The Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (Zimsec) has dismissed a viral message claiming that 2021 Grade Seven examination results had been released and were ready for collection.
The message had an authentic Zimsec website link pasted at the bottom, to make the message look authentic, however, the message in the viral post was not on the public examiner’s official website.
Zimsec public relations manager Nicholette Dhlamini to CITE and said results were still being processed and had not yet been released.
She said learners and parents should expect the results in early February.
“The Zimsec 2021 grade seven results are not yet out. We are still processing them. We are looking into releasing the grade seven results sometime in early February, so people may expect them around that time. Any message claiming that results are out and ready for collection is fake and should be treated as such. Once results are out, we will use official channels fo relay the information to relevant stakeholders,” she said.
Here below is the viral message which has been classified as not true.
“2021 Grade 7 results out: The Zimbabwe School Examinations Council has released the December 2021 Grade Seven national results. The results are despatched to Zimsec regional offices. Examination centre heads can collect the results from Zimsec regional offices from the 26 January 2022 (today)”.
