Only 11 percent of the nominated candidates running for Parliamentary seats this year are women.
There is a total of 637 candidates contesting for the 210 National Assembly seats, with only 70 being women.
This is a decrease from 14.4 percent that contested in the previous election in 2018.
Bulawayo has the highest number of female candidates. With a total of 12 constituencies, a total of 16 female candidates are contesting.
Mashonaland Central has the least number. With a total of 18 constituencies, there is only one female candidate.
