The Zimbabwe Election Commission (ZEC) will hold the nomination court process for aspiring candidates for the 2023 harmonised elections on June 21, countrywide.  

The purpose of the nomination courts is to confirm candidates who qualify to stand for the Presidential, National Assembly and Local Authority vacancies. 

The nomination process will start at 10 AM and close at 4 pm. According to ZEC, the candidates are expected to submit the following documents: 

  • Three (3) recent passport-size photos 
  • Original birth certificate and a copy 
  • Original ID and a copy 
  • Nomination Forms signed by the designated nominators who must be registered voter 
  • Two (2) signed copies of the Code of Conduct for political parties and candidates 
  • Endorsement by an authorised party representative, if sponsored by a political party 
  • Proof of payment of the required nomination fees

Presidential Candidates 


High Court Harare   
National Assembly Constituency Members 

Provincial Magistrates Courts   
Senate, National Assembly, Provincial/Metropolitan Councils Provincial Magistrates Courts   
Local Authority Councils Local Authorities/Council offices
