Acting leader of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), Professor Welshman Ncube, has refuted claims that he is resigning from politics, describing assertions made by former Zanu PF Chivi South legislator Killer Zivhu on social media as a “hallucination.”
An X (formerly Twitter) account belonging to Zivhu recently alleged that the CCC was in crisis, facing a leadership vacuum.
Zivhu tweeted on August 25, 2024 that: “The interim leader of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) BREAKING: Hwende’s ship is sinking! Captain jumps to ZANU, Ncube, to resign from politics. Mai Kore confused, others demand money to stay #OppositionCrisis, Tshabangu is dissolving them like glucose.”

However in an interview with CITE, Prof Ncube dismissed these claims, accusing Zivhu of fabricating stories and making baseless allegations “Someone smokes mbanje and tweets in a state of hallucination. I suppose part of our freedom includes the freedom to hallucinate,” said the acting CCC leader, who insisted there is no truth to the claims of his resignation.End//…
