A statement claiming to be from the United States (US) President Joe Biden congratulating Zimbabwe President Emmerson Mnangagwa on his election victory is not true.
This statement went viral on local social media platforms purporting that President Joe Biden has endorsed President Mnangagwa’s re-election by congratulating him.
However, The US embassy in Harare dismissed the statement saying it was “fake” because President Biden had not issued a congratulatory message to President Mnangagwa.
